LAST WEEKEND, as we reported earlier, 385 theaters dropped Expelled, Ben Stein’s anti-evolution documentary. This weekend, 254 more theaters will stop showing the film. The number of theaters still showing this creationist propaganda will be down to 402, compared to 1,052 for the film’s opening weekend on 18 April. This information comes from Theater Counts.
On Wednesday, 07 May, when the film was still showing at 656 theaters, the total box-office gross was $73,472, which is only $112 per theater. That comes from Daily Box Office.
The only thing dropping faster than this film’s box-office appeal is Ben Stein’s credibility, which is already as close to zero as anything can get.
