Your Money or Your Life, Your Soul or Your Brain

LET us take advantage of today’s news lull, dear reader, and enjoy some videos from the National Center for Science Education (“NCSE”). You can read about them here: More videos on NCSE’s YouTube channel. Having done that, then click over to NCSE’s YouTube site where you can view them.

We’ve watched “Creationism: Still crazy after all these years.” It’s another great presentation by Eugenie Scott. The video is an hour long, but the last 10 minutes or so is a question and answer period. If time is short, we recommend the first 50 minutes.

Note, dear reader, that creationist outfits sell their books videos. NCSE offers a lot of freebies. Here’s another example: A chance to explore Darwin’s Universe.

So once again, your Curmudgeon offers you a choice: You can send your money to a creationist outfit and buy their material — they say it’ll save your soul. Or you can click over to NCSE and watch some great videos for free — we say it’ll save your brain. As always, the choice is yours.

  1. Dear Curmudgeon,

Is it O.K. for me to be in love with Eugenie Scott and Barbara Forrest at the same time?

    Thank you.

I don’t mind, but it’s really up to the ladies.

People will pay a great deal of money to be confirmed in their prejudices. It may be that the best way to fight creationism is to do more science popularizations, like Isaac Asimov. I would so love to do that.
