Sonia Sotomayor Hearings

THIS is just a timely reminder of something we posted earlier: Open Letter to Sonia Sotomayor.

In conclusion, dear reader, permit your Curmudgeon to say this:

I would hope that a wise evolutionist male, with the richness of his experiences, would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a creationist who hasn’t lived that life.

  1. If we’re talking science, it would be “always,” not “more often than not.”

  2. It all depends on one’s presuppositions.

Ya, sure, but I’d go with the wise Norwegian male, you betcha. May 17th should be a national holiday, don’tcha think?

Seriously, though, the main rap on Sotomayor is that she considers the Constitution to be a “living document”, code for the idea that it can be changed at the whim of judges. Which, of course, is the surest way to kill it.

  4. Norwegian Constitution Day? Okay, herring-breath, if that’s the way you want it.
