WND: Rev. David Rives — Evolution Conspiracy

We were once again aroused by the blaring sirens and lights flashing on the wall display of our Retard-o-tron™. The blinking letters on the wall said WorldNetDaily. WorldNetDaily (WND) is the flamingly creationist, absolutely execrable, moronic, and incurably crazed journalistic organ that believes in and enthusiastically promotes every conspiracy theory that ever existed.

The Retard-o-tron™ directed us to WND’s presentation of a new video by the brilliant and articulate leader of David Rives Ministries. WND’s headline is Secret agenda behind evolution?

The rev’s video is titled Removing God from the Equation. It’s only two minutes long, but in that brief time you will understand that according to Charles Spurgeon, a British preacher who was a contemporary of Darwin, evolution is a conspiracy to promote atheism, which will bring about chaos and anarchy. We’ve posted before, almost a year ago, about an earlier video by the rev in which he also refers to Spurgeon: Evolution — The Most Foolish Notion Ever!

Due to the lack of any rational content here, and because there’s so much else of genuine importance going on in the world, please feel free to use the comments as a Free Fire Zone.

As with all our Free Fire Zones, we’re open for the discussion of pretty much anything — science, politics, economics, whatever — as long as it’s tasteful and interesting. Banter, babble, bicker, bluster, blubber, blather, blab, blurt, burble, boast — say what you will. But avoid flame-wars and beware of the profanity filters. Okay, have at it.

I’ll agree with the “articulate” part, but the word “brilliant” should really be in quotes. I’ve known brilliant people in my llfe, and Rives doesn’t amount to a pimple on their posterior when it comes to the “brilliance” department.
Oh, and I don’t think anyone “won” the VP debate, despite several articles I’ve read that said it went to Biden. I’ll just say that neither debater bloviator was either completely on-his-game or off-it. They were merely… there.

  2. Four tips from the Biden School of Debating:
    1) If you sense that your opponent is scoring points in the debate, interrupt.
    2) No matter what your opponent is saying, smirk.
    3) If you opponent makes an especially valid point, laugh condescendingly.
    4) When you have nothing to say, say it with great force ,conviction, and passion.

You might sense that I have little respect for Biden. However, I have even less respect for any politician, R or D, who would twist the Constitution into meaninglessness to advance their social or religious agenda.

On the other hand, if the economy founders, all else is moot. My gut feeling is that Romney/Ryan would do more to encourage growth of the private sector, which is key to increasing government revenue to ease the deficit.

Hey — Jay Leno’s doing his monologue right now. Good lines about Biden — “The Obama/Biden campaign is changing their theme from “Hope and Change” to “Smirk and Giggle”. Guess Ol’ Joe really made an impression.

@retiredsciguy I avoid debates because all of the posturing and behavior and antagonism creeps me out. Biden smirking and Ryan talking like a robot in the 1 minute I watched were enough.

As to your gut feeling, I think you, as a scientist, should do some research. While they talk about encouraging growth, I don’t see it in their policies, the policies that they’ll share anyway.

  4. @retiredsciguy:
It’s called filibustering. Forget the childish smirking and mugging — Biden interrupted Ryan more than 80 times. I don’t know why the moderator allowed it. He also lied about Benghazi and the State Dept. With all his foot-in-mouth gaffes over the years, I never actually disliked Biden before. I do now, and I suspect I’m not alone. And the Democrats are applauding Biden’s “performance,” and calling it a victory? No wonder Obama’s campaign seems to be in free fall.

Biden showed up Lyin’ Ayn Ryan!

  6. Charlie, that’s why it’s a gut feeling. I haven’t figured out yet how to research the future, short of waiting for it to happen.
