Ken Ham Is a Victim of ‘Fake News’

You may recall a couple of months ago when we wrote Klinghoffer Says Evolution Is ‘Fake News’. Although we thought Klinghoffer’s little essay was singularly silly, it did have an impact.

He made a big impression on Ken Ham (ol’ Hambo), the ayatollah of Appalachia, who ceaselessly promotes himself as the world’s holiest man who knows more about religion and science than everyone else. The title of Hambo’s latest is The Real Fake News. Here are some excerpts, with bold font added by us for emphasis:

There’s been a lot of talk lately about “fake news.” Well, regarding all that talk, remember that the two greatest fake news items permeating the culture are molecules-to-man evolution and millions of years. The claim that the universe and life arose by natural processes is a fake news story!

BWAHAHAHAHAHA! Then he says:

Here’s a definition of fake news: the belief that watching TV or reading news reports gives a true account of what is happening in politics across the nation and the world. Where do you find authentic news? God’s Word!

Right. That’s where the real news is. After that he tells us:

The media is missing the real battle: “the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour” [scripture reference]. Do you ever see most of the media reporting on the real battle raging in this nation?

Actually, no, we never see that reported. Hambo continues:

There’s also been talk about the media being dishonest to push their own agenda. I agree that much of the media is dishonest — they’ve been publishing misinformation about Answers in Genesis, the Creation Museum, and the Ark Encounter for years. When much of secular media interview us, I believe they’ve already written their anti-Christian, agenda-driven articles before the interview.

Then he claims to be in the same position as Trump:

The left-wing, secular media is doing to President Trump what they’ve done to us for years — spreading false accusations, lies, misinformation, censorship, and more.

It’s not quite the same. The media disagree with Trump on political and economic issues, but Hambo’s claim that he and Trump are both victims of fake news should stir up some commentary. One last excerpt:

Yes, there’s a civil war of ideas going on in America. It’s a culture war that’s actually a spiritual war.

[…]

America is suffering the consequence of generations not being taught how to think critically but being indoctrinated in the religion of naturalism. America is on the precipice of catastrophic change because generations were brainwashed by secularists in their anti-God religion.

Okay, that’s enough. And so we leave ol’ Hambo, standing on the deck of his replica of Noah’s Ark. He’s raging at the world, but especially at you, dear reader — because you’re foolish enough to believe the fake news of evolution.

  1. It’s important to realize that Hambo has a “social media staff” working for him. I doubt he has time to post this constant drivel, and I won’t speculate on what is going on when he’s still rambling on incoherently at 3 am in the morning on some of those posts.

But I have developed an algorithm for determining if Holy Ham wrote the text himself, as follows:

    1) It begins with a silly question
    2) the answer starts with ‘Well,…..”
    3) what follows is complete bulls**t and devoid of any reasonable logic.

  2. Ol’ Hambo:
“The media is missing the real battle: “the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour” [scripture reference]. Do you ever see most of the media reporting on the real battle raging in this nation?”

No, but they’d sure love to if they could ever find it — just think of the sensational footage that would be! Ratings would be unprecedented!

“Satanic lion devours teenage girl! Video at 11!”

  3. “The left-wing, secular media is doing to President Trump what they’ve done to us for years — spreading false accusations, lies, misinformation … and more.”

Wait – wait — Isn’t that what Trump is doing?!? Especially that bit about “false accusations”? Hambo’s really got his wires crossed — and it wasn’t Obama that did it. Oh, the irony!

  4. And even more irony from Ham:
“America is suffering the consequence of generations not being taught how to think critically but being indoctrinated in the religion of naturalism.”

As if being indoctrinated in the religion of the Bible is actually “critical thinking”. Oy vey!

  5. @Kosh:

To add you your Ham algorithm:
    4) It uses his favorite phrase — “You see, … “

  6. Watch your TV now. There was a quick 15 sec or so commercial for the Ark Encounter museum on Seattle TV yesterday. Little boy looks in awe at the massive boat, but the ad doesn’t say much, nor of course, how much it would cost to go there.

Ken Ham is an Alex Jones-style conspiracy theorist. If it weren’t evolution, he’d be shouting about chemtrails or FEMA camps.or how 9/11 was an inside job. If it weren’t the anti-Christian agenda, it’d be men’s rights or other nonsense.

  8. LOL

Ken Ham made an attempt on my life! He induced asphyxia! If I’d laughed for 2 moments more I would have died!

  9. Ross Cameron

Hambo leaves out the third ‘Fake News’ That the bible is a novel, a collection of fables, a con-job for those devoid of critical thinking. I ask him (in his favourite expression)—Were You There?’

  10. Sounds like revenues are down and fingers must be pointed.

Everyone is a victim of Ken Ham’s Fake News
better arrangement of the the words – it is like ID conservation of information or something…

  12. Ham rants:

When much of secular media interview us, I believe they’ve already written their anti-Christian, agenda-driven articles before the interview.

So any criticism of Ham is “anti-Christian”? I am certain we all know many Christians who would find that claim deeply objectionable.

The left-wing, secular media is doing to President Trump what they’ve done to us for years — spreading false accusations, lies, misinformation, censorship, and more.

Jeepers! Thank God for Kellyanne Conway to put us straight with Alternative Facts instead!

America is on the precipice of catastrophic change because generations were brainwashed by secularists in their anti-God religion.

Yep, we got trouble right here in River City!

But it’s some comfort that Ham specifies it is only America on that fearsome precipice. Other nations that have boldly incorporated pro-God religion in their constitutions (Iran, I’m looking at you) don’t face our perils, but are wonderous paradises where women know their place, adultery is punishable by at least a flogging and homosexuality gets you a place at the end of a rope. No leftist secular media there to lead the people astray! And that is clearly the model Hambo would like for us to adopt.

  13. So is the Hamster promoting creationism, Donald Trump or both? Does he think Trump is a Bible-believin’ president who will aid the creationist cause? If so, I suspect he’s in for disappointment.

  14. Ken Ham identifies with Trump, a billionaire who bragged routinely about grabbing women’s “whatever”s, visiting beauty contestants dressing rooms specifically to catch them naked, claims his own daughter is hot, and admits to lying routinely when making deals. Somehow the press, when criticizing Trump, is “fake news.”

The only way I can rationalize this is by assuming Ham is really, deep down, only about power, money and whatever it takes to get it. Ham didn’t have a Dad with a fortune and connections, so he had to come up with his own con, which apparently works better in the U.S. than it did in Australia.

  15. I can’t imagine what it would be like to realize that one can make up whatever one likes, and have it accepted as the absolute truth. No matter what the evidence and the reasoning, no matter what experts and people who have access to the facts have to say. What kind of a strong personality would it take to resist that and realize that one may be mistaken.
On the other hand, there are apparently a great many people who want to believe in such an infallible authority.

  16. Ham man has immersed himself in a magical world where reason and facts are not important so long as the illusion that provides a sense of an ordered world is maintained. Intellectual honesty is sacrificed for a set of rules and a sense of righteousness that maintains this sense of order.
    Its cowardly but safe.

  17. If the Bible is the only true news, why does it require “Biblical glasses” to read? When I read a repair manual I don’t need “Repair manual glasses”. A Christian book store recently went out of business. If the Bible is so complete and perfect why did they need to sell any other book?

  18. Why is there this small number of people from the 20th century who were the first people who understood the true meaning of the Bible?

  19. Critical thinking takes another hit. Applying critical thinking to Genesis’s contradictory creation stories should result in the conclusion that these are bronze age tales with no basis in fact. Sigh. Alternative facts, alternative realities…

  20. “The left-wing, secular media is doing to President Trump what they’ve done to us for years—spreading false accusations, lies, and misinformation; being engaged in censorship; and more. Notice how the left, that’s falsely accused Christians of intolerance for years, are some of the most intolerant people on the planet. The left-wing media and protestors say they want free speech, as long as it’s their own speech and their own views—they want to censor real free speech.”

As well as being an incurable liar, Ken Ham has fascist tendencies. Who knew?

  21. Twisting and cherry picking political reality (the reality that the source of fake news is the Trump mafia not their critics) just like he does with scientific reality. All in the name of Christianity. But it’s complete and utter intolerance of everyone (except non-Christian fascistic politicians in the US) who is not a young earth creationist type of Bible zealot.

  22. Kenny – you should look a bit more closely as to exactly who is “spreading false accusations, lies, and misinformation; being engaged in censorship; and more.”

  23. Ken Ham, the hypocritical b.s. artist:

Ham’s deception about the projected Ark Park attendance

Another lie that I confronted Ham with

Naturally, I’m no longer able to post on his twitter account.

Ham’s censorship of critics besides myself.
