Evidence of Ancient UFOs & Aliens in India

The British tabloids are often more entertaining than American creationists. A good example is in the Daily Star, published in London. Their attention-grabbing headline is NASA to investigate 10,000-year-old mystery rock that ‘shows paintings of UFOs and aliens’. They have lots of videos and lurid pictures, and a comments feature. Here are some excerpts from the news story, with bold font added by us for emphasis:

Discovered in Charama, India, the images appear to show aliens and UFOs, similar to scenes of a sci-fi movie. According to local archaeologist JR Bhagat it is unclear as to what the images reveal.

Wikipedia has no entry for Charama, India, but they do have this article: UFO sightings in India, which says: “Pre-historic rock paintings found at Charama, Kanker district, Chhattisgarh state depict human figures wearing suits similar to modern day space suits and drawings similar to flying saucers, each with a fan-like antenna and three legs.” That has a footnote to this news item from 2014, which also quotes JR Bhagat. It seems to be the same “discovery” that we’re being told about today. Then the tabloid says:

He [Bhagat, the local archaeologist] said: “The findings suggest that humans in prehistoric times may have seen or imagined beings from other planets which still create curiosity among people and researchers. Extensive research is needed for further findings. Charama presently doesn’t have any such expert who could give clarity on the subject.

After four years there’s been no research? Anyway, the tabloid goes on:

He added: “The paintings are done in natural colours that have hardly faded despite the years. The strangely carved figures are seen holding weapon-like objects and do not have clear features. Specially, the nose and mouth are missing. In few pictures, they are even shown wearing space suits. We can’t refute possibility of imagination by prehistoric men but humans usually fancy such things.”

[*Begin Drool Mode*] Ooooooooooooh! [*End Drool Mode*] Weapons, space suits! This is fantastic! The tabloid continues:

The video was uploaded to YouTube channel The Lost History Channel on Sunday and has already received more than 7,000 views.

Wowie! If it’s on YouTube it must be true! This is how the tabloid story ends:

The archaeologists have contacted NASA [the National Aeronautics and Space Administration] and ISRO [the Indian Space Research Organisation] to help solve the mystery.

The experts will figure it out — unless they have already done so — but don’t expect to be told what they know. They’ll probably lie about it to avoid causing a panic. The people of Earth aren’t yet ready to learn The Truth.

  1. Our Curmudgeon notes

The British tabloids are often more entertaining than American creationists.

Careful–you are knocking the venerable organs that so vociferously advocated Brexit!

Please don’t even dare suggest such publications are anything less than totally trustworthy! For here in the UK, we are all so desperately looking forward to Brexit, with its promised re-establishment of the British Empire and (I steal the line from Private Eye) the restoration of thriving commerce with “Persia, Mesopotamia, and Cathay.”

  2. “The experts will figure it out — unless they have already done so — but don’t expect to be told what they know. They’ll probably lie about it to avoid causing a panic”

Why they didn’t contact Hollywood? There must be more ethnologists, anthroplogists, paleologists, experts on ancien Indian (and ET) civilizations in Hollywood than at NASA. They could have contacted, for example, S. Spielberg, who worked both on Indian lore (Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom) and ET, or M. Night Shyamalan, who is both Indian and specialist of (ET) Signs.
When you’re looking for The Truth you should take all avenues.

There is this story from supposedly a legitimate newspaper… although it make one wonder

  4. Great shades of VanDoniken! Wall paintings prove aliens! Ya! Right! I now believe!!!!!

  5. It has to be TRUE, they even linked it to the bible and Noah’s big box!! What more “evidence” would anyone ever need?

  6. Longy beat me to it. Von Daniken published pics of allegedly aboriginal art in Australia with space-suited beings. Apart from making millions, I don`t think he ever advanced our knowledge.

  7. This is from the Daily Star, sister paper to the Express, which warned us that twelve million Turks stood ready to migrate to the UK unless Brexit, and also headlined the suggestion that Ken Ham’s Museum exhibits proved that humans and dinosaurs coexisted.

So it must be true. How could you have doubted it?

But I am less amused than the Curmudgeon by the antics of these tabloids. After all, Brexit is happening

  8. Ceteris Paribus

The Daily Star piece about UFOs in India just doesn’t have the same panache of the earlier tabloids. Consider the poetry that the Beatles were able to focus on other such puzzles:

I read the news today, oh boy
Four thousand holes in Blackburn, Lancashire
And though the holes were rather small
They had to count them all
Now they know how many holes it takes to fill the Albert Hall
I’d love to turn you on

  9. On the other side of the pond, there is the Weekly World News. It is no longer in print, but it is online.
I recall that it had a headline about the space aliens serving in the US Congress, naming names. Some of the members of Congress played along with that, saying something like, “I’m relieved that this has come out.”

  10. Xactly. Took me all of 5 minutes to find the 2014 article before I found your page. Yet more tabloid #fakenews… and given that indian dieties have many arms or elephant faces the fact the figures are large headed means abosolutely JACK shinola. Probably just another fanciful hindu diety.
