Because the writer isn’t a politician, preacher, or other public figure, we won’t embarrass or promote him by using his full name. His first name is Tim. Excerpts from his letter will be enhanced with our Curmudgeonly commentary and some bold font for emphasis. Here we go!
The Pueblo Chieftain recently had a guest column that pegged video games as the “root problem” of school shootings. “Root problems” would be an internal belief or a world view that fuels the callousness, hate or violence we see in the school shootings. The “root” problem lies in our beliefs, not an external factor like a video game.
Yeah — video games can’t be the “root” of the problem. Tim knows what the root really is. He says:
We teach our kids from preschool through college and beyond that they are products of evolution. My biggest issue with evolution is not all the scientific laws it would need to break to occur [Hee hee!], it is about the philosophy or belief system that comes with it.
Ooooooooooooh! This is gonna be good! Tim tells us:
No God, no life after death and no absolutes removes any reason for morality.
Right! That’s why evolutionists are all such violent scoundrels. He continues:
School shootings, Racism, sexism and dehumanizing of other people are not marks of insanity but the “fruit” of a “root” belief, like evolution, that tells them that those people are “less than human.”
What a great letter. Every sentence is pure gold! Let’s read on:
If we want to stop school shootings, I suggest we stop lying to ourselves about who we are and start speaking the truth.
Yes, it’s time for The Truth™. Here’s more:
We’ve been created in the image of God as male or female. We are not accidents or animals. We are moral agents with a free will to choose good or evil and are accountable to our Creator for our choice.
Now that we think about it, before Darwin there wasn’t any violence, racism, sexism, etc. It all started with him! And now we come to the end:
When we die, we will stand before Him as our Savior or our Judge. No one would be prone to such destructive behavior if they believed this instead of evolution. [Scripture reference.] Jesus is the answer.
Well, dear reader, now will you abandon your belief in evolution? Or will you continue your evil ways until it’s too late?
