Creationist Wisdom #872: The Secret Dictatorship

Today’s letter-to-the-editor appears in The Pioneer of Uttar Pradesh, the most populous state in India. The letter is titled Exposing the secret dictatorship. They have a comments feature.

Unless the letter-writer is a politician, preacher, or other public figure, we won’t embarrass or promote him by using his full name — but we don’t have to worry about that here. The newspaper is wisely keeping his identity a secret. At the end they say only that: “The writer is a Turkish author.” Excerpts from his letter will be enhanced with our Curmudgeonly commentary, some bold font for emphasis, and occasional Curmudgeonly interjections that look [like this]. Here we go!

For the last 150 years, our world has been suffering under the grip of an iron dictatorship. This dictatorship created suffering and gave rise to feelings of hatred and aggression. However, it imposes a political agenda and creates a situation of oppression wherein physical prowess is used to drive people towards atheism and turn them into selfish materialists who view this world as an arena of struggle. This is the dictatorship of Darwinism and the world doesn’t even know that it exists.

Egad — we’re being exposed! The anonymous Turkish author says:

It is fiercely promoted despite all the mounting evidence against it and constantly imposed on nations, on leaders, and on academics. Today, in almost every country, the indoctrination of evolution starts in elementary school and continues throughout one’s life.

People are forced to accept Darwinism by the sheer force of intimidation, propaganda and illusion. This is the only reason why no world leader today can express their objection to Darwinism or even the most religious countries teach their children evolution, although it essentially denies the existence of God.

Shocking. Absolutely shocking. After that he tells us:

This surprising imposition is due to one reason only: Darwin’s theory of evolution, which even Darwin himself had doubts about [Hee hee!], was chosen as the so-called basis of materialism and since then, has been forced upon the people. As a result, generations have been indoctrinated into believing that evolution happened.

The stunning exposé continues:

The Technics & Science Research Foundation, which has for decades showed a commendable stance against this harassment, has been organising international science conferences for the last three years. As a part of this commitment, scientists from around the world come together and explain why evolution is wrong and how it is consistently refuted by science.

We never heard of them, but here’s their website. Their honorary President is Adnan Oktar, who writes under the pen-name Harun Yahya. Hey — that may be a clue to the identity of today’s mysterious Turkish author.

He then spends a few paragraphs telling us about the wonders that were discussed at their recent conference. We’ll skip that because we’re certain that you’ll click over there to read it for yourself. The mysterious letter-writer says:

This conference marked a turning point not only because it heralds the fall of the materialist dictatorship [Ooooooooooooh!], but because it brought together people with different faiths and ethnicities for a good cause.

Sounds like a grand event. Another excerpt:

There is another reason why this scientific refusal of evolution by scientists was crucial: Dangerous and erroneous ideas like ‘life is a struggle’, ‘you have to be cruel to be successful’, ‘feel no compassion, you are an animal just like everyone else’ is the main reason behind the current culture of hatred that is wreaking havoc around the world. Even terrorism, one of the biggest problems in today’s world, is usually due to this hateful and selfish mentality.

Terrorists are Darwinists! And now we come to the end:

A person who knows that he is created by God, like all others, and that humans are not animals, a person who appreciates the beauty of love, compassion and forgiveness, cannot possibly hurt anyone. For these reasons, this was a historical meeting that made it clear that better days are ahead and we hope that it will be an example to for similar future events that will help save our world from the clutches of this dangerous and covert dictatorship.

Well, dear reader, this may be the most revealing news we’ve ever seen. There is much to think about here. Make of it what you will.

There’s hope in this. The newspaper – I think it’s an on-line publication only – has simply printed this diatribe without comment, and as Our Host says, there is a facility for readers to make them. I think it likely that the editor is hoping for some. I see that what I take to be a local reader has already made one.

Bu what is one to say, in response to this cataract of poisonous piffle? Every single one of its many assertions is false to fact. But not just false to fact: blatantly, palpably false, and in addition rancorous and malicious to an outrageous degree. Anybody who could write this, anybody who could read it without gagging, is simply not informed by reality, but by some demented perversion of it, part ignorance, part hallucination, and part persecution complex.

It would be risible, except for one reflection: that it’s possible that this writer is so lost to reason and estranged from reality as to actually believe it. And with that, all restraints are broken. If you are crazy enough to believe this, what are you crazy enough to do about it?

  2. “Egad — we’re being exposed! ”
Yes, dear SC, I’m very worried about your safety. It may be wise to remove all references to the state were you live on your beloved blog or those pesky Indians, with the aid of President Erdogan, will go after you. Fortunately I understand that you have your lair prepared. Just in case I have a few suggestions:

Of course for you being the global leader of the Darwinist Conspiracy financial concerns won’t matter.

“it brought together people with different faiths and ethnicities for a good cause.”
I wonder if they got the opportunity to discuss the exact identity of the Grand Old Designer (blessed be MOFO)?

  3. Unless the letter-writer is a politician, preacher, or other public figure, we won’t embarrass or promote him by using his full name — but we don’t have to worry about that here. The newspaper is wisely keeping his identity a secret. At the end they say only that: “The writer is a Turkish author.”

But at the very beginning it is revealed that the author is Harun Yahya – certainly a favourite of us all…

  4. Jerry Coyne, for one, has lamented the rollback on teaching evolution in Turkey, overseen by Erdogan, and fuelled by Islamic creationism. The Discoveroids, on the other hand, are probably exultant.

I think Oktar, or Yahya, has actually spent time in a mental institution. He probably blames that on a conspiracy, too.

  5. Adnan Oktar / Harun Yahya has been a long time Turkish creationist fanatic. He is exactly as ignorant as is required to play that specific role, as well as being just plain crazy. Oktar had received a three year prison sentence for criminal activity but he eventually managed to get his conviction overturned.

Be sure to check out the video showing Oktar’s bizarre sex cult listed in my second link below. All of his female “kittens” look like they have undergone plastic surgery to look like nearly identical “dolls”. Oktar is totally nutzoid crazy; the dictionary definition of *crazy* should list him as an excellent example.

The formerly secular Turkish government has been thoroughly taken over by Erdogan and even their equivalent to the academy of sciences has been completely silenced by fear preventing them saying anything about evolution since Erdogan simply has anyone disagreeing with his bullying claims jailed for indefinite periods of time.

Erdogan has removed evolution teaching from the Turkish schools and has routinely imprisoned thousands of journalists and anyone else that says anything he doesn’t like. He has also fired some 120,000 public servants because he didn’t like them. So Oktar is definitely in league with Erdogan, what with them being nearly identical twins in that respect.

By the way, Trump has even publically stated that he admires Erdogan, among the numerous other tyrants that Trump has also endorsed as great people and even as his “friends”.

  6. Oops, I forgot to also mention that Oktar’s idiotic “Atlas of Creation” uses fishing fly photos for some insects, shows a sea snake photo while claiming that it is an eel, and even has at least one stuffed animal photo claiming to be a photo of the real animal, etc. Did I mention that Oktar is also extremely stupid?

‘A person who knows that he is created by God, like all others, and that humans are not animals, a person who appreciates the beauty of love, compassion and forgiveness, cannot possibly hurt anyone’ The history of all religions tells us otherwise.

  8. “The history of all religions tells us otherwise.”
Some people willingly suffer from being incapable of understanding.

  9. “Who knows that he is created by God”
That is not in conflict with our scientific knowledge of the natural process of reproduction.
To confuse the individual with the population is a textbook example of the fallacy of composition or division.
That salvation applies to mankind rather than the individual, for example, is the heresy of Universalism.

Talking of blocking websites, with the new recent data protection laws for europe, some american websites have decided instead of complying they would just block everyone from europe.
The rules were adopted in April of 2016, giving companies two years to prepare for the changes.

  11. “People are forced to accept Darwinism by the sheer force of intimidation, propaganda and illusion.” Huh? Substitute “religion” for “Darwinism” and the sentence is closer to being true.

The 1st international conference teamed up with Reasons to Believe
    http://srf-tr.org/the-origin-of-life-and-the-universe_international-conference/#conference-speakers

The 2nd seemed to have sucked in an Italian contingent:
Carlo Alberto Cossano is a Health Informatics Project Manager, who is also an expert in clinical pathology analysis laboratory and pathological anatomy laboratory information systems. He works in Dedalus Healthcare Systems Group in Italy.

Paolo Cioni is an Italian psychiatrist with long-term hospital and academic experience. He has written many publications in cooperation with leading Italian editors in the field of psychiatry. His latest work, published in English, is Paranoia: Between Leadership and Failure (CreateSpace, 2015) where he initially examined paranoia at a personal psychiatric level and continued his examination at sociological and political levels.

Dr. Fabrizio Fratus is an Italian sociologist. His doctoral thesis was on “Scientific Creationism” and “New scientific discoveries about the origin of life and men”. At the moment, his activities include raising public awareness about moral corruption in society, the family institution becoming increasingly degraded, and the increasing loneliness of the people. He carries out these activities with a team of young people.

He founded the Anti-Evolutionist committee in Italy. He has five books on this subject, the names of which are as follows:

    God or Darwin?
Myth or Real? The Lie of Evolution
    Science and Faith

The 3rd can be seen here:
    http://www.jeffersoncorner.com/3rd-international-conference-on-the-origin-of-life-and-the-universe/
Now there is a LDS contingent and our buddy David Snoke.
    And they had dancing!

  13. Our turkish friend says “A person who knows that he is created by God, like all others, and that humans are not animals, a person who appreciates the beauty of love, compassion and forgiveness, cannot possibly hurt anyone.”
Well, those people fighting the religious wars of the 16th and 17th centuries would be disappointed then to hear that. So would the conquistadors.

  14. Hey ! This guy is the one who does his shtick surrounded by beautiful women in scanty clothing wearing sunglasses.

  15. Karl Goldsmith (@KarlGoldsmith)

“8 foreign scientists with worldwide renown backgrounds discussed the scientific invalidity of the theory of evolution with supporting scientific evidence” And yet not one biologist among them.

  16. Was there anything in the way of an alternative?0
