Self-Published Genius #80: Science in the Bible

Today we have a spectacular addition to our series about Self-Published Geniuses, where we bring you news of authors with a vanity press book in which the author claims to have made paradigm-shattering discoveries, and announces his work by hiring a press release service.

The press release is titled “No more doubt – Science Confirms the Bible” book finally proves evolution theory is a hoax, issued by OpenPR. It says, with bold font added by us for emphasis, and occasional Curmudgeonly interjections that look [like this]:

Pierre Kandorfer describes the biggest fraud in human history and sets the record straight. [Ooooooooooooh!] The latest book by Pierre A. Kandorfer delivers the latest proof [Proof!] that science confirms the accuracy of the Bible.

Excited? Of course you are. The press release says:

Our secular society wants to make us believe that the Bible represents only an irreconcilable conflict between “science vs. religion”. This atheist worldview is suggesting a dispute between scientific facts versus a religious belief system. Nothing can be further from the truth, and scientific facts can prove it.

Wowie! Then we’re told:

Incidentally, the proof of Bible’s historical correctness is by far no more a scientific problem. This question has been decisively answered decades ago. What remains, is only the interpretation of scientific facts, depending on people’s worldview.

That’s what ol’ Hambo is always telling us. It all depends on your worldview. The press release continues:

It is true that the Bible is not a “science book”. At the same time, we are not aware of any evidence that the Bible contradicts the science. Actually, just the opposite. The book assembles all the facts we must know.

Fantastic! The bible doesn’t contradict science. So it’s flat-Earth, firmament, Flood — the whole biblical ball o’ wax. Isn’t that wonderful? Let’s read on:

The book documents hundreds of scientific facts the Bible mentioned already thousands of years ago. Pierre A. Kandorfer compares these facts with the “evolution theory” by Charles Darwin, which many scientists now call a hoax and a complete fraud. [Yeah!] Don’t be fooled! This book will finally set the record straight.

Finally! Then we’re told that “The paperback is available at Amazon and other book sellers and costs only $9.95.” So we looked for it there — and here it is! For $9.95 you get all 130 pages. There are no reviews yet — you could be the first!

Hey, wait! We have the press release, but we need to find out who the publisher is so we can be certain that this book belongs in our collection. Amazon says: “Publisher: Independently published.” We don’t know what that means, but it’s good enough for us!

You gotta be wondering about the author. Who is he? The press release informs us:

Pierre Kandorfer is a veteran journalist with thirty-five years of media background. Being half French, half Austrian, he grew up in the middle of Europe and has written a series of books and thousands of articles. Pierre Kandorfer has a Ph.D. [Wow!], used to be President and Dir. Of Programming of EuroChannel Broadcasting, speaks several languages, taught Communications at a college in Europe, and is considered a media analyst with special focus on media, society and politics.

We found some info about him here: Pierre A. Kandorfer, Ph.D.. It says his PhD is in “Communication and Media Studies,” but we’re not told where he earned it. Who cares?

Okay, dear reader. That’s all we’ve got, but it’s more than enough. Go ahead — buy the book. You won’t regret it.

    He has a website
@ – Wow! indeed. We know where he stands.

He also claims to be an artist:

    Crazy stuff.

  2. SC, I am stunned that we are only up to #60 in the “Genius” series. Surely there are thousands upon thousands of people with too much time on their hands, and a half-*ssed understanding of science.

Oh, sorry. I get it now. They do have to be capable of both reading AND writing, don’t they.

  3. Correction. Mea culpa. How could I have understated the number of self-published geniui (spelling?) by a factor of something or other. #80 of these precious, deluded souls is no small achievement. One might hope that they would be a bit more mindful of the planet’s scarce resources. Though if we are to believe our lords and masters, most of the paper probably comes from Canada, so who gives a flying fire truck.

  4. tedinoz, if you visit the websites of the vanity publishers (I usually link to them, but not this time), you’ll see the vast number of books they “publish.” I only write about those I find during my normal news sweeps.

You know the man is a genius – just look at the evidence in his book

    Chapter 4 Darwin’s Fraud
Life can’t be generated from non-life
Living cell is much more complicated than a car factory
Species don’t evolve from one particular specie[sic] to a different one
    No “transitional” fossils ever found
    “Macro-evolution” is just variation
    Darwin discounted the Cambrian explosion
    “Homology” does not exist
Humans did not evolve from apes
Darwin’s tree of life upside down

Chapter 5 The big bang is science fiction

Chapter 9 Big flood reveals worldwide evidence

Chapter 11 Laws of nature annihilate evolution

Macroevolution is just variation? – did he mean microevolution?

  6. Thousands of articles, eh? Wonder how many were in peer-reviewed science journals.

  7. Well he got the “humans didn’t evolve from apes” part right. 🙂

  8. But, but, but, which bible should we follow. Which one of the Heinz collection is the ‘Truth’? I searched in vain for Ice Ages, asteroids, microbes, even science. Even the prophecies are couched in ‘could-mean-anything’ language. What`s a poor believer to trust?

  9. Chapter 11 Laws of nature annihilate evolution
Surely, there has to be a chapter on how the laws of nature are intelligently designed to make life possible? At least how Earth is privileged to be habitable?

  10. From Kandorfer’s artistic statement at Online Art Gallery:”You are an artist –or you are not an artist. There is nothing in between.”

Even his “creative” side is doctrinaire creationist! And his enthusiastic amateur daubs show he has about as much talent for painting as he has for understanding evolution. He also “almost” became a physician. He’s Mr. Renaissance himself!

Half French. Half Austrian. All crackpot, with energy to burn.

  11. “… and a half-*ssed understanding of science.”

Your percentage for him is *way* too high, from the standpoint of scientific literacy and *way* too low from the standpoint of being an belligerently ignorant jackass.

One of the compensations of the universe that we inhabit is that the arrogantly and willfully ignorant are always eager to make themselves readily apparent.

And if he got a PhD from a recognizable school, he would make sure everyone knew the school’s name. That the school is not mentioned tells us all we need know.
