Creationist Wisdom #931: Creation Is Fact

Today’s letter-to-the-editor appears in the News-Gazette of Champaign, Illinois. It’s titled Remove evolution from our schools, and the newspaper doesn’t have a comments feature.

Because the writer isn’t a politician, preacher, or other public figure, we won’t embarrass or promote him by using his full name. His first name is Dan. He writes a lot of letters, and we’ve posted about at least one of them before — see #909: Creationist for Kavanaugh. Excerpts from his new letter will be enhanced with our Curmudgeonly commentary, some bold font for emphasis, and occasional Curmudgeonly interjections that look [like this]. Here we go!

We need to get the fiction story of evolutionism out of the schools. Calling it science instead of a philosophy/religion is a deception used to get converts into their belief system and thus be able to make children quit knowing that there is a God who created everything.

BWAHAHAHAHAHA! Great start! Then he says:

They claim that the origin of everything must have occurred by naturalism (meaning no God), yet they have never been able to explain origins of naturalism. [Gasp!] No scientific statement exists showing how evolution could be possible [Hee hee!], yet, without any evidence favoring evolution, they falsely say it’s a fact.

This is good stuff! And Danny is just getting started. Now he tells us:

Knowing that God created everything is not a religion but a scientific fact because no alternative is possible. [What?] Either we were created or we don’t exist. [Ooooooooooooh!]

Admit it, dear reader. Danny got ya with that one. He continues:

Telling our children that there is no creator and thus are no absolute morals and that nothing is a sin gives them a license to be criminals. [Right!] Since they brought in the fiction story of evolution into the schools in the 1960s, morality has plummeted and classroom disruption, shootings, theft and violence has skyrocketed.

Ah, so that’s what made the ’60s so wild and crazy. Darwin inspired Woodstock! Who knew? Let’s read on:

We need to teach the thousands of proven scientific facts that prove evolution is impossible. Scientific facts show that evolution is impossible and is not a religion, and it needs to be taught to our children.

Thousands? One will be sufficient. Here’s more:

No honest person can promote the story of evolution to children without lying to them.

Danny knows how dishonest you are, dear reader. And now we come to the end:

I’ve challenged evolutionists for decades to present a scientific fact favoring a belief in evolution, but the only response is name-calling and insults.

Name calling and insults? We’re shocked — shocked! — that anyone would respond to Danny that way. And you gotta admit, dear reader, he writes a great letter!

    ABOUT DAN
The gift that God gave me is teaching how evolution is impossible and how modern scientific facts have proven that the world cannot be older than around 6,000 years. There is no science which favors a belief in evolution and billions of years. I welcome any questions you might have about this issue.

Absolute morals – has the man read the Bible?

  2. @Michael Fugate; which Dan ***** (surname on letter)? 6 of them

  3. Michael Fugate

    Dan.*****.927

  4. Still can’t find it, but let it go. I doubt it’s all that much fun anyway

  5. I hope Dan isn’t a teacher of children.

    Try this

Groan. “Dan” starts off by showing that he doesn’t know the difference between nature and naturalism, and it’s all downhill from there.

  8. As our dear Curmudgeon says, one fact that disproved evolution would be enough. I take it Dan didn’t provide that small proportion of the thousands he claims to know about. And his following sentence “Scientific facts show that evolution is impossible and is not a religion, and it needs to be taught to our children” is quite incomprehensible, though I agree with the bit about evolution should be taught to our children. I know mine know quite a bit about it since both I and their mother are biologists.

  9. I think, therefore I am not an atheist.

  10. “The gift that God gave me is teaching how evolution is impossible blah blah blah…”

The gift is defective. Send it back. Get a refund.

You’re an idiot and a liar, Dan, but since I’ve resorted to name-calling and insults, I’ll concede you did get one thing right.

@Porter. Surely you not serious. I know I know, you are serious and don’t call you Shirley!

  12. Michael Fugate

So Porter, you are an agnostic?

  13. @Porter
And Jesus died for our sins. God is love. Islam is a religion of peace.

Any other brilliant pensees you want to blind us with?

  14. Dan: “Either we were created or we don’t exist.”
    Our dear SC: ”
Admit it, dear reader. Danny got ya with that one.”
Not only, my neighbours too as they started to complain I made too much noise when LOLling. Its stupidity and ignorance is only matched by its pomposity. One of the greatest letters in your collection!

  15. @Porter manages to connect a conclusion to a premise.

    Premise: “I think,”
Conclusion: “therefore I am not an atheist.”
I sincerely doubt the premise or you would have realized that this blogpost is not about defending atheism by mocking religion but about defending evolution theory by mocking creacrap.

  16. Dan is a serial letter writer on the subject of evolution. This one takes the cake: March 7, 2017. Extract… “I have offered large sums of money to evolutionists if they could find one scientific statement showing how evolution could be possible, but none has ever been able to do so.”

Given Dan’s limited grasp on science, and inclination to reject any scientific evidence as false, I’d say his money is safe.

  17. @Michael Fugate: Got Dan, but he only shares his timeline with friends, and since he’s not a public figure I won’t intrude on him
