Creationist Wisdom #1,070: Politics and the Devil

Today’s letter-to-the-editor appears in the Tribune-Democrat of Johnstown, Pennsylvania. It’s titled Satan’s agenda will destroy America, and the newspaper has a comments feature.

Because the writer isn’t a politician, preacher, or other public figure, we won’t embarrass or promote him by using his full name. His first name is Gale. Actually, that’s a name of uncertain gender, so we will make no assumptions. Excerpts from Gale’s letter will be enhanced with our Curmudgeonly commentary, some bold font for emphasis, and occasional Curmudgeonly interjections that look [like this]. Here we go!

Satan’s agenda would disavow America’s Judeo-Christian heritage and strike the words “under God” from the Pledge of Allegiance.

Wikipedia’s article on the Pledge of Allegiance says the pledge was adopted in 1892, but those “under God” words weren’t added until 1954. Presumably, Satan’s agenda was in full effect for the first 62 years of the Pledge. Anyway, Gale then says:

He [The Devil!] would encourage abortion as health care and thwart efforts to penalize those who kill a baby who survives an abortion. Satan would push same-sex marriage and transgenderism in defiance of God’s plan.

We’re shocked — shocked! We had no idea that ol’ devil was so horrible. After that ghastly disclosure, Gale tells us:

Socialism would be praised even though Christian leaders have maintained it is not compatible with Christianity.

Lots of people think the bible advocates communism. It was actually put into effect in one of the US colonies, and then abandoned when it was found to cause horrendous results — see Of Plymouth Plantation: “Every Man for His Own Particular”. Gale continues:

Satan would choose candidates who enthusiastically embrace all the above which cannot be supported by science or Scripture. Biased, liberal media, the entertainment industry, the public educational system and Big Tech would be used in order to propagate his propaganda.

Egad, Twitter is a tool of the devil! Let’s read on:

Satan laughs because all this hard work was already done for him by the Democrats and Catholic-in-name-only Joe Biden and because so many self-professed Christians voted for this political agenda that blatantly disrespects God. By doing so, they have sanctioned the murder of a million babies a year, the rush to socialism, Christian discrimination and the false illusion that God’s designs for gender and marriage are false.

The devil is laughing! And now we come to the end:

As people of faith mourn the above atrocities, we must pray for a conversion of heart for those who voted for these evils and we must push church leaders to ex-communicate Catholic politicians that publicly support the above agenda. To not do so would deny God’s teachings that our nation was founded upon.

Yes, the nation was founded on Holy Moley teachings — just read the Constitution and you’ll see. Great letter, Gale!

    “Satan would choose candidates…”

So: we don’t have free will, then?

Satan will do this, Satan will do that (abortion; same-sex marriage; and so on). But in what sense can a supernatural entity who fails to manifest power supernaturally — as opposed to what we know people to be capable of doing, off their own bat — be said to have any real power at all?

Poor old Gale may as well blame everything on the Deep State. Or the Illuminati. Or the Jews. Or…

THE IS NO HELL OR SATAN FOOL!!!

  3. I like the header: “Satan’s agenda will destroy America”.
And YHWH’s agenda supports the ascending superpower China.

Would like to ask him where he was on Jan. 6 when the Retaliban’s messiah attempted a coup. It is easy to imagine a fundamentalist Islamist writing that letter.

  5. Gale’s belief system comes very close to dualism – two supernatural forces in charge of the Universe, not one. Used as a theodicy, it actually makes some sense, although, like all theologies, it rests on axioms. In its own case, one is that evil of human origin needs explanation.

But of course Gale would neither know nor care what might be the basis of his/her belief. Gale knows what’s right and what’s wrong. I wonder – what would Gale’s reply be to the proposal that government should apply the best-credentialled measures known to reduce the number and incidence of abortion?

  6. Mon dieu! The ghost of Hugo Chavez and that Satan guy must have collaborated to change the voting machines and elect Joe Biden. Who could have guessed that!
